Texting while driving is something that the majority of younger folk do, as studies report. It’s also something that is incredibly dangerous and foolish- leading to many reported deaths each year as a result of automobile accidents.

There is no current federal law that outlaws texting while driving, but the majority of all states are either limiting the act or banishing it completely. This years Oscar nominations have been greatly anticipated. There are several deserving leading actresses from Hollywood, but only one can get the final award. Of course, simply getting a nomination alone is recognition of an excellent job well done.
First up is Sandra Bullock in the “Blind Side.” This heart warming movie touched everyone’s soul when seen in theaters around Thanksgiving. Her acting was precise and skilled, which it hasn’t always been. Sandra Bullock also performed in many other movies last year that won her recognition. Sandra Bullock is loved by most because she breaks the rules that most Hollywood actresses follow. She isn’t in the tabloids for controversial things, and she doesn’t party like other young starlets.
Of course, even though Sandra is one of the “older” Hollywood actresses, newer starlets are making a scene too. Last years “Precious” film took the world by storm when Gabourey Sidibe played the role of a pregnant and undereducated teenager. Even though she is a new star, she skyrocketed to fame. Carey Mulligan is a relatively newly heard of actress as well. Her role in An Education was so phenomenal that she was nominated for a Leading Actress award. In this film she plays an English school girl that is seduced by a much older man.
Next up is Penelope Cruz, a well known Hispanic actress that is always stunning on the red carpet. She is nominated for a supporting actress role for the movie “9″ and continues to awe her fans with her acting prowess. Penelope is often misunderstood as a B list star, but her acting and fashion sense definitely have the ability to make her the top of the list.
A Hollywood actress that is well known but not as famous, is Mo’Nique. Her bold acting in Precious wowed audiences. She played a controversial role of a welfare receiving abusive mother. Her acting is shockingly profound and strong, which is why she was nominated for a supporting actress Oscar.
